...I get asked this quite often...
...humbled as always by the beautiful kind comments,
I'm sometimes bemused when i read...
...it's lovely, but what do you use it for?...

...I just stitch for pleasure,
sometimes there is a purpose,
sometimes there's no reason other than
to purely to make stitches..

...almost everything I make starts out as simple desire
to stitch a few stitches,
maybe to try some new linen,
or a new thread,
but rarely do I have a project in mind...

...as the stitching progresses,
my mind starts to wander
along the lines of
"what shall I turn this into"...
...often that piece of stitching might sit unfinished
for days, weeks or even months...
...I have some pieces that have been "waiting"
for years...

...so I guess if I had to say what do I use it for,
I would say it's the reason for an afternoon of stitching,
or a few stitches at the end of the day...
...I am perfectly happy having little bundles
of stitchy pieces
sitting on my work table,
with no reason for being,
other than that I needed to stitch them at the time.
...that's reason enough for me...
Happy Stitching
